About

A Little About Me

I'm a graduate of Pittsburgh Technical Institute (October 2008), I've worked as a Website Developer and a Visual Developer (Front-End Developer) since I graduated. I have experience in both website design, website development, Flash, wire-framing, user experience, and basic video editing.

I am eager to learn new things and make it a point to learn something new on a daily basis. In this ever-changing field, being able to learn on the fly is a necessity and I have a very short learning curve. I will learn new front-end technologies, new scripting technologies, or new back-end technologies without prejudice.

Work Experience:

American Eagle Outfitters — March 2014 - Present

Title: UI Engineer

Expertise:
Front-end development, Ember.js/Ember-cli, Bootstrap framework, CSS/CSS3, HTML/HTML5, Javascript, Photoshop, Illustrator, Agile process (modified to our needs), GIT/Bitbucket, Jira/Atlassian tools

Description:
I am a UI Engineer responsible for the checkout flow of our large website using the Ember.js framework as well as a modified Bootstrap dependency to keep our style guide consistent across a large team of developers. I am the owner of our modifications of the Bootstrap library and have managed and maintained the code since it was implemented into the project, which includes planning, updating, deploying, and communicating to the production team when updates will be released to the production website.

I am acting lead of my team working on the checkout section of the website, although I do not have an official elevated title. In addition to writing code, I am the first person to look at defects created and I am the person that assigns work out to the team. I am also very involved in the planning process and I help the business team to gather requirements as well as give rough estimates on the magnitude of the work to decide if we need to make adjustments or break the work down into smaller, more manageable portions.
